Slamdance Virtual Film Fest ’25 kicked off this week with a boatload of offerings

In its 31st year, Slamdance may not quite have the name recognition as Sundance, but it’s certainly held its own in a time when everyone is less eager to head out to the theater. As a matter of fact, they’ve moved the whole operation into Los Angeles. While it may not be the ideal time to have an event in the recently troubled city, this is a way to add vitality back into such a normally vibrant place.

Over the last few days and continuing on until Wednesday, Slamdance has had their in-person screenings, but it’s not over on the 26th. Things are actually just getting started with the virtual festival spanning a full two weeks starting today. The virtual pass is super affordable and as a matter of fact, you can become a Slamdance member and get access to the virtual festival along with other events throughout the year. They boast that their memberships fees go directly to filmmakers. The only caveat is that not all films involved in the festival are available online. There’s still a ton of content to consume, so don’t fret and get in on the fun.

Keep an eye out for coverage of Slamdance films here throughout the next two weeks!
